Zagreb walking tour starts in the very heart of Zagreb Old Town and here are some top location you will visit and see:

King Tomislav Square: a square dedicated to the first Croatian king who united all Croatian lands into one country. The statue of this king reigns also of this square. Another important building is the main railway station on the south of the square whose passengers, after arriving in Zagreb, have one of the most beautiful views of the city.

Zrinjevac: the loveliest of the parks in the city center. It is now an elegant promenade with plane trees, fountains and busts of notable figures.

Ban Jelačić Square: central focus point of modern Zagreb. It was originally designed as a place where fairs could be held. It was named in the honor of Ban (Governor) Josip Jelačić. If you need a place to meet someone choose the most common places of all Zagrebians – ‘under the clock’ or ‘under the horse’s tail’.

Dolac: a visit to the most famous open-air market in Zagreb called the ‘belly of Zagreb’ where you will have to buy something traditional from ‘kumice’ (local ladies that sell here).

Chatedral: the story goes all the way from the 11th century. Now, a neo-gothic structure with two twin towers.

Tkalčićeva Street: Zagreb’s most colorful street, a meeting point for young people of the city. Here we will join the buzz and have a coffee while people pass us by.

The Stone Gate: the only gate that remained standing from the Middle Ages with a chapel inside.

St. Marks Square: the heart of the Upper town with the Governor’s palace and the Parliament building.

The Strossmayer Promenade: a walk on the southern rim of Gradec with the best view of the whole city ending with the Lotrščak Tower and the shortest funicular in the world.

This is your private tour, so you can always take a break with a coffee or enjoy in one of many restaurants. After your sightseeing, journey back to Split.
